For the 2007-2008 school year, approximately 580 students are enrolled at Damien. The members of the Damien student body come from all areas of Oahu and reflect the ethnic make-up of Hawaii. More than 90% of Damien graduates go on to pursue higher education at colleges and universities.
Students enter Damien on a competitive basis. The school administers a national standardized test that is used for admission purposes, academic placement and to determine eligibility for academic scholarships. In addition to test scores, admission criteria include prior scholastic records, teacher recommendations and a personal interview.
The academic programs at Damien are college preparatory. Each student is placed into a course of study which is consistent with his ability and potential. An Honors Program is available for the academically gifted. Advanced Placement courses are also available for qualified students who would like to earn college credit while still in high school.
